Seeing so many liquid lipsticks together excites me greatly.

If you’re not a fan of matte liquid lipsticks, look away now because I’m about to rave about these.

The liquid lipsticks are theBalm’s latest product release and they come at great timing too, especially with the matte lip trend.

The lipsticks have a minty vanilla scent and I found that the minti-ness helped my lips feel not so dry.

Now, these lipsticks are really pigmented but there were a few that did apply streaky (Honest & Chivalrous) and had to apply in about two layers.

Because of their crazy pigmentation, sometimes applying them can be quite unforgiving.  Crooked lines really standout, so I struggled a little bit (especially with the darker shades) when applying.  The doe-foot applicator was nice to use, but if you don’t have a steady hand, you might need to use a lip brush.  However, I think that process is well worth it considering how long they stayed on my lips.

I wore the lipstick for a good 5 hours before I had to eat and the color did not budge or fade – it even lasted throughout my meal!  I did have to wipe it off eventually after lunch, which didn’t bother me since I knew the lipstick would last me until dinner.

theBalm’s liquid lipstick lasted much longer than the Sephora’s Creamy Lip Stain and definitely much longer than NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream.

theBalm’s color selection is much more wearable than Anastasia’s Liquid Lipsticks and much more interesting than Sephora’s.  I do wish there was a deep plum or purple in there though!

I recommend theBalm’s liquid lipsticks for those who:

• Are lazy with reapplying lip products
• Have non-chapped lips
• Don’t mind super matte lips (they show all your lip lines)
• Like opaque lip colors
• Don’t mind spending time with the application
