Japonesque Pro Performance Lipstick Swatches & Review (c/o)
Besides their makeup tools, Coachella was where I first tried Japonesque makeup and I couldn’t wait to go home and try more.
The Japonesque Pro Performance Lipsticks are very creamy and easy to wear. With a moisturizing formula, it provides a slight glossy look to the lips and the lipstick stayed creamy during wear.
The design of the lipstick bullet is also something to note when applying. There’s a slight dip that hugs to the curves of your lips, making it easy to apply an even layer and getting into the corners of the mouth.
I was pleasantly surprised with the pigmentation of Shade 6, which required just one layer to get it this opaque. It’s not exactly my favorite shade, but I couldn’t get over how beautiful this shade applied.
Shade 1 is the type of warm nude I usually go for – peachy-toned and opaque. I put on two layers here without the help of any foundation over my lips.
Lastly, Shade 11 (which is what I took with me to Coachella), required a little bit more work than the others. It wasn’t completely opaque with one swipe, so I applied 3 layers to get it to where I was satisfied. On the first layer, the lipstick was semi-sheer and streaky with my natural lip color peaking through.
The formulation of these lipsticks remind me a lot of the MAC Amplified lipsticks, so if you’re a fan of those, you’ll love these as well.
There are 12 shades in this line ranging from mauve, rose, red, and to a deep purple. Now that I know how these wear on the lips, I’ll definitely have to pick more up in the future.
