NYFW Day 2: Backstage with Tanya Taylor
After taking it “easy” on Thursday (I say “easy,” but I was clearly exhausted), I was a little anxious about how Friday was going to play out. My first stop was at Tanya Taylor and as this was my first time going backstage, I honestly did not know what to expect, but to be there at a certain time.
Backstage included two tiny rooms filled with models getting their hair, nails, and makeup done. For Tanya Taylor, MAC did the makeup, Bumble and bumble did the hair, and Morgan Taylor the nails.
Everyone was working hard to finish by 12 PM and it was a little stressful seeing the artists frantically finish. The energy was good though – the artists were all so creative and it was inspiring to see the models’ look from start to finish.
I also noticed that everyone backstage was casual chic and I felt overdressed with my heels. Standing around in 4 inch heels was not fun! Thank god for my sandals, so I was able to bounce around to take pictures of the artists in action.
The makeup was created by Michelle Clark and described the look as a “dreamy 70s beauty feel with an ultra chic super strobed cheek.”
- Strobe Cream in Peach Light
- Conceal where needed
- Face and Body Foundation
- Redhead Brow Gel with Pearl Cream Color Base
- Crystal Eye Gloss in inner corners
- Lashes curled and brows naturally defined
The collection felt very wearable and had a vacation-type feel that I could easily see myself wearing to a warm and beachy destination. The makeup was paired perfectly with this collection and the peach tones were a refreshing change than the usual bronze holiday look.
Up next will be my outfit I wore to the Tanya Taylor show, can’t wait to show you!
