How many of you have holiday office parties to go to?
Lucky you if you had the chance to go to a fabulous holiday party (Facebook, I’m talking to you), but for most people (including me), I’ve gone to casual dressy holiday events right after work.
As a woman on the go, I’m all about the easy glam. Although I work for myself now and don’t have office parties to go to anymore, rest assured, I’ve had days where I had to go straight from a work meeting to an event.
Now that I’ve done my major beauty prep (read this post if you want to know what I do), getting ready the day of is a cinch. Stress levels used to be at an all-time high when I used to change my entire look to go to a party. Sure, I could bring a change of clothes, but I hate bringing extra stuff with me. I carry enough as is! So here’s how I pick an outfit that can transition from day to night:
Choose an outfit that doubles for work + play
An outfit like this could be a number of things: a sheath, a skirt + blouse, skinny jeans + blazer, etc. Whatever outfit you choose, first and foremost, make sure it’s work appropriate. I know it’s easy to get carried away with super cute party dresses, but please make sure it fits into your office culture.
I’ve always been a skinny jeans + blazer kind of girl. It’s what I feel most comfortable with and it’s easy for me to switch out a few accessories to make it more party friendly. Which brings me to my next point…

Bring fun accessories
For work, I’m usually seen carrying a tote that can carry anything and everything, comfortable shoes to walk in, and sometimes my glasses.
I hate going to parties still in work mode, so to change my whole vibe, all I have to do is bring out a clutch, wear fun shoes (in this case, these mules worked for work AND play), and maybe more dramatic jewelry. When it comes to work, I’d rather be safe than sorry and wear a work-appropriate outfit paired with fun accessories than wear a cleavage-baring party dress. Trust me, you don’t want to be that girl. :O

If you’re wondering what I do for makeup, you’ll have to wait for the next post!
In other news, do you have any fun holiday parties coming up? What does your office like to do for the holidays?
Anyway, I’m off to grab a cup of tea and watch Tanya Burr’s Vlogmas Day 7 – love her!
Happy almost weekend!
