Got invited to a last minute Halloween party?
In college, I used to plan costumes at least a month in advance and now, you can pretty much find me scrambling to come up with an outfit that I can pull off as a costume. I used to go all out and spend hours on my outfit, hair, makeup, but if that’s not your thing anymore, you can still keep it simple and make it out to a party.
If you attended a music festival this year (i.e. Coachella), chances are you’ll be able to find what you need in your closet to make these three costumes. Even with nothing to wear, you can let your makeup do all the talking! So slap on the glittery makeup that you wore this Summer and transform yourself into a mystical creature:
Fairy
This one is the easiest of the three and don’t be shy when it comes to the glitter on your face. Apply glitter glue (like this one or this one) where you would normally put highlighter. Make sure you place a napkin or anything to protect the surface you’re working on because glitter gets everywhere!
With any glitter you have lying around, start packing it on where you placed the glue. Play around with glitter in different sizes for more texture. Add a frosty lipstick for more of an ethereal effect.

Unicorn
We’re seeing unicorn makeup everywhere these days, but if unicorn IG makeup looks too complicated, this one is a cinch.
Apply your makeup as you would normally using very frosty eyeshadows, blush, highlighter, etc. Add glitter under your eyes and put on a lilac-colored lipstick. Pat on a blue-ish iridescent white eyeshadow (if you have one lying around) on your lips. Feel free to add a horn if you’re feeling extra festive!

Mermaid
It’s time to bring out your teal eyeshadows and teal glitter! Similar to the unicorn, wear frosty eyeshadow and highlighter with glitter underneath your eyes, but this time, use teal glitter to tie in the mermaid theme. Add some drama by wearing a teal liquid lipstick with teal glitter on top.
