New ideas for your everyday winged liner.
If there’s one thing we can count on to make our eyes look wider and bigger, it’s eyeliner. While most of us have a tried and true eyeliner style, we found it fascinating to see all the types of winged liners the makeup artists came up with at NYFW. From low-key to dramatic to glam, we rounded up our top winged liner looks from NYFW so you can get ideas on how to refresh your everyday winged liner.
HOW TO SPICE UP YOUR WINGED LINER:
- Draw a low winged liner with rounded edges.
- Apply a glitter eyeshadow on top of your winged liner to spice it up.
- Line your upper and lower lashline and create a flick (subtle or dramatic, you pick). No eyeshadow needed.

Marc Jacobs SS18 | Diane Kendal for Marc Jacobs

- Line inside out and underneath the eye with Marc Jacobs Beauty Fineliner with Blacquer and Highliner in Blacquer
- Create the flick with Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
- Use pointy Q-tips to clean up edges and smudges
- Tip from Diane: “If your eyes are more close-set, don’t do the inner eye corner points, or that will exaggerate them. With rounded eyes, you can make the outer corner a little thicker and extend it out further for a more elongated eye. And for those blessed with a naturally almond shape, they can do the inner and outer corner. But a general rule for doing an elongated outer line is to not extend beyond the eyebrow. Keep it within a good distance.”
