Our scalps deserve love too.
Unless you have dandruff, the scalp is usually an afterthought and often neglected in the beauty world. To many of us, when we think of healthy hair, we think about our actual strands. But what about our scalp?
Just like our face, the scalp needs exfoliation from time to time. By using a scalp scrub, it removes product build-up and flakiness on your scalp and promotes healthy hair growth. Scalp health may be the least sexy beauty topic, but it’s something I deal with on a daily basis. Similar to my face, I have an oily scalp and I find that using a scalp scrub really helps combat the itchiness and dry scalp I especially get during the winter. Unless you have dandruff or psoriasis (I recommend going to see a doctor about that), a weekly scalp scrub will help your hair and scalp stay happy. It’s pretty easy to use – just apply a small amount and gently exfoliate your scalp with the microbeads 1 – 2x a week. If your scalp is sensitive, be sure to be extra gentle and find a scrub that isn’t too abrasive, like the Miriam Quevedo Extreme Caviar Exfoliating Scrub Scalp Mask. It’s super luxurious and contains Tahitian Mother of Pearl and coral sand to remove dead skin, and when used correctly and gently on the scalp, it does an amazing job at exfoliating without being too aggressive.
