It’s a never-ending struggle: red or pink for February?

Get into the Valentine’s Day spirit by having fun with your manicure! Here are two classics I reach for that are universally flattering.

THE VAMPY RED
Ideal for anyone looking for a subtle vampy nail or a shade that works with virtually any look, Pacifica’s Red Red Wine applies like a dream in a creme form. This shade isn’t your traditional red – it’s a rich plum with cool undertones. On the first coat, it looks heavily plum but once you apply the second coat and allow to dry the red spectrum will come through.
THE PERFECT PALE PINK
Of all the pink polishes in the world, one of my absolute favorites is Essie’s Meet Me At The Altar. It’s a buildable soft pink that’s universally flattering for any skin tone. This is currently unavailable, much to my dismay, but a great dupe is Essie’s Go Ginza. Reds are great for a variety of looks, but soft pinks like this can be an accessory to a whole look or stand in the background of an entire outfit.
I’m always on the hunt for new romantic shades but these are workable for anyone. Whether it’s February or not, reds and pinks are fun to wear year-round so be sure to check out what works for you!
