August 2015 GLOSSYBOX Review (c/o)
Happy Belated Birthday GLOSSYBOX! It was their 4th birthday last month and they picked a good range of products to celebrate.
In this month’s box, it included:
- GLAMGLOW YOUTHCLEANSE Daily Clearing Cleanser
- Lollipops Makeup Lip Balm
- SpaRitual Nail Lacquer
- Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lash Primer
- POP Beauty Kajal Pen
I’m a fan of all GLAMGLOW products, I find them super effective and luxurious all at the same time and this YOUTHCLEANSE Daily Clearing Cleanser is no exception.
The product looks very similar to its clay mask and you apply it to your face dry for some exfoliation. It starts to slowly foam up after you add water, but I found the foam not as strong as my Shiseido cleansers. It still left my skin really soft, exfoliated, and not stripped.
The Lollipops Makeup Lip Balm‘s texture felt in between a gloss and a balm. The flavor I got didn’t have a strong sweet scent and I found the balm comfortable and moisturizing. It didn’t sit on my lips and settle into my dry patches, the balm actually soaked in and had a glossy-ish texture.
I don’t use a lash primer in my everyday makeup routine, but it’s nice to incorporate once in a while. I tested this product on one eye to test how much effect this lash primer had. Unfortunately, it weighed down and uncurled my lashes, but the primer itself gave tons of volume. So if your lashes are good in the length department but you need some volume, give this Manna Kadar one a try.
This SpaRitual Nail Lacquer looks off white in these pictures, but in person, it’s a really pale iridescent pink. Not a color I usually go for, but I think it’d be nice as a top coat over another nail polish. If you’re looking out for vegan nail polishes, I’d recommend giving SpaRitual a try.
The POP Beauty Kajal Pen swatched really black, but I was really disappointed in two things: it didn’t set and the sponge applicator wiped product away vs. smudging it out. I probably wouldn’t use this eyeliner to line my eyes in any sort of way and would use this as a base to my eyeshadow instead.
GLOSSYBOX is available for monthly subscriptions for $21 at glossybox.com.
