On my oily skin, these are the two areas I pile on the moisture.
Just when most of us are getting over our teen acne, by the time we are in our 20s, we start to see the first signs of aging around your eyes. Depending on the amount of time we’ve spent in the sun or in front of your computer, we can start developing crows feet around our eyes.
I don’t know about you, but I spent half of my twenties not caring about my skincare, so I spent the latter half diligently applying anti-aging (and of course acne) treatments. Since I’ve been blessed (or not) with oily skin, I usually don’t wear heavy moisturizers or hydrating masks unless I really have to, but for my eyes and lips – I really pile it on.

Your Eyes Are The First To Age
We all know the feeling of waking up to puffy dark circles and needing the thickest concealer we’ve got to mask the tiredness. Our eyes are usually a dead giveaway when we’re tired, hungover, sick, etc. That’s because the skin under eyes our eyes is much thinner than the rest of our face and unfortunately, loses elasticity faster. As we age, we can start to develop crows feet, wrinkles under our eyes, or a “sunken eye” look.
Your Skin At Night
After a long day, your skin switches into a recovery mode where your skin repairs and regenerates. While we sleep, our skin produces more cells and replaces aged cells so that our skin’s layers are refreshed and renewed when we wake up. It’s also more active and loses moisture throughout the night, making it a perfect time to apply the right skincare products for our skin to absorb.

Eye Care Day & Night
Eye cream may be the last thing on your skincare priority list, but I promise you, it’ll SO be worth it in the long run. I recommend applying eye cream both day and night and then applying an eye mask during your weekly pampering session.
For the daytime, I usually wear an eye cream that is anti-aging and fast absorbing for better makeup application. If the eye cream is too heavy, my makeup tends to slip around.
Right before bed, I usually like to wear a heavier eye cream like this Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Moisturizing Reviving Eye Mask. What I really love about this eye cream is that I can wear it every night to fight off dark circles and dehydration lines or as a 10-minute mask when I need a burst of hydration (like before a party or event). You can even pop it in the fridge and apply it cold to depuff your eyes even more. This eye cream feels really smooth and moisturizing, but never oily. When I wake up, the eye cream is fully absorbed and my under eyes never feels dry.

Lip Care Day & Night
Fortunately, our lips do not age as fast as our eyes do, but it’s still important to give your lips TLC, especially at night. Just like our skin, our lips lose moisture throughout the night, so I recommend choosing a heavy duty lip balm to last throughout the night like the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm. Whenever I use this lip balm, my lips look super plump and I wake up with super soft and smooth lips. Peep the before and after below!
