Reviewed: L’Oreal Pure-Clay Masks

In between visits to my favorite facialist, masks are a staple in my weekly skincare routine. For someone with acne-prone skin, my pores get congested really easily around my chin and nose so I rely on weekly upkeep to keep my pores as best as it can be before my next visit to my facialist. I’ve used a ton of clay masks and essentially the clay draws out impurities from the pores like dirt and oil.

But what caught my attention with the L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks were how each clay mask addressed a different concern. Most clay masks on the market just focus on the purifying aspect, but with these, you can find a solution for clogged pores, dull skin, oily skin, etc. For me, I know that using Exfoliate and Refine would great around my t-zone area, but would not be suitable on my dry sensitive cheeks so I can really customize my face mask depending on my concerns that week.

So what is it?

Each L’Oreal Pure-Clay Mask is made with three mineral clays:

Kaolin: absorbs skin impurities and removes excess shine

Montmorillonite: purifies and rebalances

Ghassoul: a volcanic clay from Morocco where local women use the clay on their face and bodies

Depending on your skincare concern, there are 5 masks available:

Clarify and Smooth – Rough, Uneven Skin (yellow)

Particles exfoliate to get rid of impurities and smooth skin.

Clear and Comfort – Stressed and Uncomfortable Skin (blue)

Seaweed helps clear and comfort the skin to leave skin feeling clean, soft and comforted.

Detox and Brighten – Dull and Tired Skin (grey)

Potent pure clays and charcoal act like a magnet to draw-out and capture deep impurities (such as dirt, oil, and pollution) to reveal a purified, even, and radiant complexion.

Exfoliate and Refine – Rough and Clogged Pores (orange)

Volcanic rock exfoliates dead skin cells and clogged skin, and smooths surface imperfections to reveal a polished, pore-minimized and smooth complexion.

Purify and Mattify: Oily and Shiny Skin (green)

This super-charged pure clay mask with the power of Eucalyptus purifies and mattifies shiny oily skin to reveal a clarified, mattified, and refreshed complexion.
