For far too long, I’ve always felt that Asian Americans have been a quiet voice in the diversity conversation. But not anymore.
I transitioned my personal blog into a platform for Asian Americans to discuss anything beauty because I felt like we didn’t have enough resources in mainstream media. Now our voices are being heard where Asian American leaders and influencers are finally speaking up and giving a voice to our community.
This past month, I was so happy to hear that Macy’s celebrated Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with events across the US honoring the rich traditions and cultural impact of the Asian-Pacific community. Guest speakers, like Eddie Huang, Jenn Im, Stephanie Villa and more, talked about beauty, media, and food, and how their Asian heritage shaped them into who they are.

I was lucky to be invited to the last Asian Pacific American Heritage Month event at Macy’s Valley Fair with Stephanie Villa, where she talked about how being Asian American influenced her view on beauty and health. This unique experience allowed us to learn about Stephanie’s go-to Asian skincare products and to meet her IRL. She stressed the importance of taking care of yourself inside and out and to also focus on skincare. Her mom, who was in the audience, taught her to always wash her face every night, which she demonstrated by double cleansing with Shisiedo’s Cleansing Oil and Water. Now onto Stephanie’s Asian skincare picks! As one of the oldest Asian cosmetic companies, Shiseido is a great brand to start off with if you want to try Asian skincare. [one_half padding=”0 5px 0 0″][/one_half] [one_half_last padding=”0 0px 0 5px”][/one_half_last] A great starter set (now $48!!) for someone who is serious about anti-aging skincare. In this line, the eye cream and night cream are some of my faves too! Stephanie likes to apply this rich eye cream under her eyes and on her eyelids. For an everyday sunscreen especially if you live in the city, try the Shiseido Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector. For a sunscreen to use in the water, try the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion Broad Spectrum.
