100 Percent Pure Nail Polish Melon Collection c/o
Sugar Melon | Watermelon | Tigger Melon
I’ve been wearing dark nail polishes for weeks now and I’ve seriously been needing some refreshingly bright colors. 100 Percent Pure sent me three nail polishes from their Melon Collection: Sugar Melon, Watermelon and Tigger Melon. Coral is one of my favorite nail polish colors to wear and I love that 100 Percent Pure dedicated a collection to melons. There are 8 shades in total in this Melon Collection: all coral-y toned and all have the juiciest names.
In case you haven’t heard of 100 Percent Pure Nail Polishes, they are “10-free,” which is something you don’t hear very often. To be exact, all their nail polishes are free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, xylene, parabens, fragrances, phthalates, and animal ingredients. For any vegans out there, 100 Percent Pure is worth checking out since they’re extremely picky about the ingredients that go into their cosmetics.
Sugar Melon | Tigger Melon | Watermelon
Anyway, back to the nail polishes! Sugar Melon was surprisingly sheer on the first coat. In my experiences, with pastel shades like Sugar Melon, they can apply very creamy and opaque on the first coat, so I loved the sheerness of it so that I can build it up. I actually prefer this color with just one coat on my nails for those times when I just want my nails to look chic and polished. I usually have trouble with pastel polishes because they kinda look like whiteout on me, but not Sugar Melon.
I really liked Tigger Melon too, although I would rather wear this shade during the spring and summer. My favorite out of the three has to be Watermelon though! It’s a nice change from my go-to red and I really liked how it complimented my skin tone. My only complaint was that it applied kinda streaky, so I ended up applying three coats for a more even application. My usual manis last around 7 days and this one lasted about 5 days until I started to see chips.
I visited the 100 Percent Pure Santana Row location this past weekend where they were giving out free nail art and it was a fun way to check out the new Party Nail Polish Collection. They even have site events going on until 12/15, so be sure to visit their site!
