Anastasia Glow Kits Review & Swatches (c/o)
Oh Anastasia, you can do no wrong.
In honor of the founder’s birthday, the Glow Kit is a new product from the Anastasia Beverly Hills line containing four metallic powders. There are two kits available depending on the type of tone you prefer: That Glow (warm) and Gleam (cool).
The powders are multipurpose and can be used on the face, eyes or body.
Just like the Contour Kits, the pans are removable if you prefer to use your own magnetic palettes.
The packaging is also cardboard like the Contour Kits, which I’m not a fan of, but I can’t really complain since it housed my Contour Kits pretty well with no damage.
Skin tones that are warm and on the tanner side should theoretically reach for these. Now, I use the word “theoretically” because I think both warm or cool toned can work with this palette. If you love that bronzy glow, you’re going to love these. I prefer to bronze up with a matte powder, but I think strategically placing a shimmer bronzer on your high points will add a beautiful sheen to your glow.
If you’re on the fairer side and want to highlight, Gleam might be the better option. That Glow might contain shades that aren’t light enough to “highlight” fair skin and may look like a bronzer instead.
I think those with my skin tone can get by using this palette if you want a more intense looking highlight. The contrast of my warm skin tone and a cool highlighter is just what I want when I want my highlighter to be seen from across the room :P. The pinker powders were very subtle on my skin but was still really pretty – I’d say it made me look like I was glowing from within.
Also something to keep in mind is that Mimosa, Bubbly, and Dripping Gold are very very similar.
These two palettes have a lot of similarities to a bunch of popular highlighters on the market. Can you see the similarities too!?
Mimosa = Becca Opal
Hard Candy = theBalm Cindy Lou Manizer
Bronze Glow = theBalm Betty Lou Manizer
The texture of the powders are not as soft or buttery as some of the other popular highlighters on the market, but these powders still apply beautifully. I applied about two layers to get it to my desired intensity and for even more pop, the powders can be applied wet. The intensity of these powders falls in between Becca and theBalm – Becca being the most shimmery and theBalm providing a good amount of shimmer.
So, what do you think? Will you be getting these palettes?
The Anastasia Glow Kits are available now for $40 at Anastasia Beverly Hills and Macy’s (free shipping!).

I have just ordered ‘That Glow’ palette, which I think will be perfect for my warm skin tone. I love how they are magnetic so you can move them around. My Becca champagne pop powder has broken so I am hoping these hold up a little better as really want ones that I can take traveling with me!

I think these will! My Becca Opal shattered too (I was devastated!) and I noticed that these Anastasia highlighters are more firmly packed. Now I just have to get around to finally patching up my Opal highlighter…

The That Glow palette looks beautiful! Who doesn’t want to be dripping in gold haha. I wish Anastasia sold their products consistently across all vendors, I’d love to get my hands on these sets at an Ulta near me!

I believe Anastasia will be coming out with more highlighter shades to customize palettes that are similar to the contour kits.
