A Rediscovered Love

Years ago, when I could finally wear makeup, the mineral foundation movement was just beginning and I was on that bandwagon.  As a teenager, it had all the things I was looking for – natural, great coverage, and affordable.  While I really wanted to love the foundation, there was one thing that kept me away – the shades.  I was always in between shades and the tones were a too pink for my liking, so I had to put this foundation aside and move on…With the launch of bareSkin foundation, bareMinerals was back on my radar and I decided to give the newer matte mineral foundation a try.  Golden Tan was a little too dark for me, so I bought Golden Medium instead.(Bear in mind that my arm is darker than my face.)

When swatched, I loved the way how golden it was and I knew it’d be a winner.I noticed right away the natural finish and did a decent job at covering my blemishes.  I use a densely packed powder brush to buff it into my skin and I like to start at my nose and work my way out.  My nose can be a little red, so this is where I like to pack on the pigment.

Compared to the TARTE foundation I’ve been using, the bareMinerals one is slightly lighter and more yellow.  You’ll have to work on building up this foundation to make it fuller coverage and will have to blot at the end of the day to keep it entirely matte.
