butter LONDON Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon Swatches & Review
A couple weeks ago, I gave you a little preview of what I thought of butter LONDON’s Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayons in Ladybird.
I sorta liked it then, but I REALLY like them now.
I talk about pigmentation a lot on my blog and it’s basically because it’s the first thing I look at with almost any product. I have dark features and these lip crayons did a good job at withstanding that.
Nude lip products are the first to fail in terms of pigmentation and my natural lip color shows through easier with the nudes, but Tea With The Queen did well! It took a couple of layers, but for the most part, I liked what I saw.
Each of the Lip Crayons were easy to apply precisely because of its pencil form and butter LONDON made it easy to sharpen with its built-in sharpener.
They were moisturizing to wear and had a minty sensation to keep lips from drying out.
I guess if I had one thing to pick on, it’d be to have more brights and darker colors in the range. The darks (Ruby Murray and Toff) weren’t as dark as I expected, I was hoping for something with a little bit more punch. A bold red or really dark purple would be nice with this formula – hoping those shades will come out this fall.
Primrose Hill Picnic and Trout Pout were STUNNING on, so those will get tons of wear this summer.
Give these a try the next time you’re at Ulta if the matte trend isn’t your thing, the sheen on these lipsticks are really flattering for the summer months.
Available for $20 in 8 shades at butterLONDON.com, Macy’s and Ulta.com.
