Coachella Ikat Nails
It’s less than a week away to my first Coachella! I’ve been really enjoying getting ready for the festival and I seriously can’t wait to experience it all.
Is anyone else planning on going?

I really wanted to test my creativity and technique with my nails this week and I’ve always been in love with the ikat design. To my surprise, this design was easier than I imagined.
1.) Paint your base with one solid color. I used Sally Hansen in Dive In all over my nails.
2.) Using a nail art nail polish in white, draw white solid triangles. The messier and more misshapen, the better.
3.) Use a complimentary color to place an imperfect blob in the middle of the white triangle.
4.) Using short thin vertical brushstrokes, create a border around the white triangle with the nail art nail polish in black. Also draw in an abstract black blob in the middle of the pink blob (very technical terms, I know).
I hope this inspires some of you to try this design and please tweet me if you’re planning on going to Coachella!

I’m not skilled either, I wouldn’t do nail art with super straight lines. You can totally be messy with this one and it’ll look cool either way. xx
