Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Review & Swatches (c/o)

As a neutral eyeshadow lover, I’m excited to show you the release of the Coastal Scents Revealed 3 palette today.  Everyone is on the neutral bandwagon these days and it makes me happy that budget friendly brands like Coastal Scents are offering alternatives to those super expensive palettes.

So does this palette match up to my more expensive ones?

Top Left Eyeshadows

The pigmentation was a mix between chalky, barely-there, and high pigmentation.  I found that the mattes were chalky and a few of the shimmers were uneven and sparse when swatched.  In this group, the cream matte and peach shimmer were the most difficult to apply.

Top Right Eyeshadows

Except for the gold, this group’s pigmentation was decent.

Bottom Left Eyeshadows

The plum shimmer was really velvety and soft to apply, but the matte violet barely applied onto my skin.

Bottom Right Eyeshadows

Minus the muted gold/tan shimmer, this group of shadows were pigmented.

So does it match up?  Not exactly.  I wouldn’t run and try to get these.  However, I think this palette is great for the girl who is just starting out and wants to experiment with color (purple is amazing for that!).  The packaging is really slim too, making it perfect for mini vacays.  At $19.95, this palette filled with 20 eyeshadows could be yours.
