In My Current Makeup Bag

These days, my everyday makeup is kept pretty simple…mostly because I don’t have the luxury of taking my time to do my makeup in the mornings anymore.  As much as I love full glam, I’ve been embracing more natural looking makeup and just enhancing my features for everyday.

My current makeup bag for the summer has a bunch of (no surprise) neutral colors and my bases are much more natural than what I used to wear.

As I’ve said in this week’s post, I highly recommend using a tinted moisturizer or BB/CC cream for an everyday base.  Depending on how my skin is doing that day, I’ll reach for the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream if I want a dewy glow or the NARS Velvet Matte if my skin feels oilier.

As for the rest of makeup, these items are the bare minimum — the Bobbi Brown Serum Corrector and L’Oréal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Highlighter to brighten my under eyes, a liquid liner from NYC, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (does not smudge, amazing!), and the Maybelline Lash Stiletto in waterproof to hold my curl.

For more natural brows, I just fill in my brows using the Anastasia Brow Wiz.  It’s super quick and I can easily define my eyebrows without it looking too heavy or blocky.

I use my trusty Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer to add some dimension and the Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation to set everything.  For my golden toned girls, you gotta check out Cover FX’s line, they have extra golden shades that are marked with a G+.

I’ve reviewed the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette (read more about it here) and although it doesn’t show up on my skin as much, it’s a really nice palette to use for an everyday blush.  It’s subtle and it works perfectly for a professional environment.

Lastly, I’ve been using Carli Bybel’s palette non-stop since I’ve got it (read my review).  The bronze eyeshadows are THE perfect colors for the summer and the highlighters are crazy good.  I highly recommend getting it before it’s sold out!
