I had the pleasure of attending a beauty event with Cuyana and NUDE Skincare last week in San Francisco.  It was my first time at the Cuyana Showroom and I had the best time mingling with fellow SF bloggers.  Time and time again, I always tell people that the best part of being blogger (and having worked in marketing) is learning about the brand story.  I’ve heard of these brands before, but it’s always interesting to hear the brand’s point of view.  Both brands have similar stories, they each believe that less is more and to only purchase things you really love.  Now that I’m getting older, I’ve been slowly adapting to this mantra of fewer better things.

At this event, we were able to preview these new NUDE Skincare products: Purify Deep Cleansing Mask, Detox Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash, and Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly.

Now, I’m a little OCD about cleansing.  Here’s a fun fact: at night, I cleanse my face 3x before I’m satisfied haha.  The first step in my cleanse routine is makeup removal, so I was excited to hear that the Cleansing Jelly melts away any stubborn makeup.  You apply it as a thick gel onto your dry face to begin the makeup meltdown process and once you add a tiny bit of water, it turns into a milky consistency.  I found that it removed about 90% of my makeup – I think if I worked the cleanser into my lashes longer, it would have removed almost all my waterproof mascara.

Here’s another fun fact, I’m obsessed with exfoliation: chemical and physical.  I’m always on the hunt for products that are going to lighten my acne scars and make my skin super smooth.  The Detox Brightening Fizzy Powder Wash is unlike anything I’ve ever owned.  It comes in a powder form and once you add water, it fizzes up on your skin and the beads in the powder supplement the exfoliation.  This exfoliator contains so many nutrients, creating a super gentle effect on the skin.  As soon as I washed it off, my skin was noticeably smoother.

Yup, you guessed it.  I’m obsessed with clay masks too!  My skin is very acne prone so I make a conscious effort to apply masks at least twice a week.  I find clay masks work the best on my skin since it sucks up all the gunk in my pores.  The Purify Deep Cleansing Mask was also super gentle on my skin, no tingling within the 10 minutes that I had it on and when I wiped the mask off, my skin was so much brighter already.
