Last Fall, I was seriously addicted to wearing dark lips all season long and this year I don’t think it’ll be anything different. While dark lips do look pretty with just eyeliner and mascara, I love taking it up a notch by wearing smokey eyes with it too. Today, I was inspired by one of my pins from Rodarte A/W 2014 NYFW. Let’s begin!
1.) Prime lids and add a nude eyeshadow on top to help with blending.
2.) In the crease, blend in a very cool toned light brown like Limit from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.
3.) Intensify the outer crease with a cool toned brown like Nooner from the UD Naked 3 Palette.
4.) We’re going for the sandwich technique today, so darken the outer crease more with a very warm medium dark brown like MAC Dark Brew and blend. Blackheart from the UD Naked 3 Palette can work too!
5.) Create more depth to the inner part of the eye with the same shade and blend. Notice how I’m trying to leave the middle of the lid bare.
6.) Keep intensifying the inner and outer crease until you are satisfied with the darkness.
7.) This is how your eyelid should similarly look at this point.
8.) Add a cool brown pressed pigment like the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Diamond Dog to the middle of the lid.
9.) Smoke out the lower lash line using UD Limit, UD Nooner, and then MAC Dark Brew or UD Blackheart. Next, I added MAC Gingersnap in the middle of the lower lash line.
10.) Apply your fave falsies, inner highlight, liquid liner (I used the Starlooks Liquid Liner), UD 24/7 eyeliner to your waterline and you’re done!
For my blush, I used the berry blush from the Starlooks 3 Shade Palette from the August Starbox (review coming soon!) and for my lips, I used City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Gwen. Bronzer is Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and highlighter is theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer.

If you haven’t bought it yet, Maybelline just came out with matte lipsticks in their Color Sensational line, I have Divine Wine and I am in love! They have great shades 🙂

I’ve been trying to track those down, but whenever I go to Target, they’re sold out…BOOOO
Aissa says
Oh no! I hope you find them and I’m hoping it will turn into a permanent line. As far as I know it’s just limited edition.
