Firming DMAE Cleanser* | Firming DMAE Toner* | Firming DMAE Serum* | Firming DMAE Moisturizer*
With so much awareness about parabens nowadays, whenever I get a chance to try a natural product, I’m all for it. I’ve been a fan of derma e for over a year since I discovered their amazing scrub in a 2013 ipsy Glam Bag. derma e has different lines, mostly grouped by concern, and every single one of their products are all natural and vegan. This particular line is targeted towards the more mature market and is mainly focused on firming the skin. I’m not exactly their target market in this case, but since I’m obsessed with anti-aging, I decided to give it a try.
The star ingredient of this line is DMAE, which improves skin tone and helps with skin sagging. You can read all about the ingredients here. Just like all derma e products, there are no artificial or heavy fragrances in this collection, it smells very natural and subtle.
I have pretty acne prone skin and thank goodness, this cleanser didn’t break me out, but it didn’t wow me. It’s a gel like texture, which I enjoy using over milky type cleansers. It did the job of cleansing, I just didn’t see any amazing effects from it.
As for the toner, it pleasantly surprised me. I usually go for toners that are chemical exfoliants, while this one I think is nourishing after cleansing, adding back moisture and vitamins back into your skin. My skin felt more supple using it and I liked how it picked up any last bit of dirt from my face.
The serum’s texture is unlike others I’ve tried, it’s opaque, moisturizing, and has a lotion-y consistency. After using the toner, I’d use this on my face and found that it was enough to moisturize me for the night.
The Firming DMAE Moisturizer is quite thick and I mainly used this at night on my neck. Sagging necks really scare me, so this would be the first place I would start using firming products. My neck doesn’t get too much love from my expensive skin care and I really enjoyed adding this moisturizer to my routine.
I will have to dock off points on packaging. I’m hoping in the future they’ll make it more sleek and visually appealing, I think there’s tons of potential there.
I think this is a skin care collection that my mom would absolutely love. If you’re in the market for natural skin care and have sensitive skin, highly recommend you to check out their other collections. They’re widely available these days, I think I saw the products at Whole Foods, Ulta, and Sally’s Beauty Supply.
