Okay, okay – I may be going a little crazy with the matte trend.  But hear me out…

The Doucce Cosmetics Luscious Lip Stains are basically a two in one – you can either wear it matte or glossy, whatever your mood is.

Each kit comes with a lip stain and gloss and although it’s meant to be worn with the gloss, I’ve been a rebel and have been using it just matte.

Unlike the other matte liquid lipsticks I’ve tried lately, this one is really dry.  Now I know you’re supposed to wear it with the gloss, but I love the staying power too much.  I wore these lip glosses at night when I was in San Diego last weekend and they lasted ALL night.  Does anyone else hate having to reapply lipstick when you’re out having a good time?

If you really want to wear it during the day, definitely add the gloss or else your lips will look shriveled up (no joke) and we all know how unforgiving the sun can be.  It’s much more comfortable to wear with the gloss and lasts longer than your conventional glossy lipsticks.

But before you start slathering on the gloss, keep in mind that you have to let the lip stain dry for a couple minutes until there isn’t any transfer.  I applied the gloss thinking that the lip stain was dry after 30 seconds, but I annoyingly stained my clear lip gloss with the undried lip stain.

I can’t say how many lip stains there are in total in the collection because the shades available on the site are dependent on the inventory.  Right now, there are about 13 shades available for purchase and just so you know, the lip stains look a lot more different in person than they look on the site.

I also thought that the price was a little steep for this gloss set, but compared to other liquid lip glosses on the market, the price is very comparable to competing products.  Also the fact that it comes with two products for the price of one makes buying the set much more justifiable haha.

I really do like the color range in this collection, all are very wearable.  With the mauve trend craze all thanks to Kylie Jenner, I also love that Doucce has so many pinky nude shades.  As you can see, I gravitated towards those colors haha.
