Here’s a makeup look I’ve been wearing lately that’s more wearable during the day than a vampy lip. It’s really fast and easy for me to do, making it perfect for work and school.
FACE: I primed my face using Benefit the POREfessional and used bareMinerals bareSkin foundation in #10.
CHEEKS: I bronzed up my face using my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer and then used my favorite blush at the moment: Girlactik Star Blush in Madrid*.
EYES: As per usual, I used my Starlooks Liquid Eye Liner and L’Oreal False Fiber Lashes Mascara (false lashes optional). Then, all over the lid I used Sidecar from the UD Naked Palette and Buck in my crease and lower lashline. Virgin was used to highlight my inner corner and browbone.
LIPS: I used my new MUA Makeup Academy Liquid Lipstick* in Plum. Since this brand is really new to the US, I thought it’d be useful for you to hear my thoughts before you purchase.
First things first, I like the packaging, but I HATE the brush. It’s not a doe-foot applicator, but has actual bristles. My brush is completely frayed at this point (I’ve only used it maybe 5x) and is a pain to apply precisely. I have to resort to a separate lip brush to apply now.
Just a warning, the price difference between the US and UK MUA products are quite steep, I was expecting the same UK price point.
The product itself is very matte and opaque. It applies creamy making it easy to blend and spread, but dries down very matte. It’s not to the point where it sucks the life out of your lips, but it’s close. If you like your lipsticks a little bit creamier or if your lips are on the drier side, the MUA Liquid Lipstick might not be for you.
Despite all of this, I find myself wearing it over and over again because of the color and wear time. It compliments my olive skin tone so well and the color is not too bold to wear during the day. I also don’t have to reapply the lipstick too often, it lasts on my lips for a good couple hours.
Have you tried MUA yet? What are your thoughts?

I really love that shade on you. I don’t think that I can pull dark shades off as Im so pale. I look like a goth! I’ve never tried any MUA products to be honest. I do really like the matte opaque finish so maybe I’ll try this lipstick in a different shade
