I’ve been having a nude polish moment lately, which has now evolved into a full-blown pastel obsession.
Oh, have times changed because rewind to 2 years ago and you would have only seen me in brights.
Now that it’s starting to feel like Spring, I gathered all the nail polishes that I’ve either been wearing or are planning to wear.
Let’s start off with the pinks, shall we?
PINK & NUDE NAIL POLISHES
With pinks and nudes, I find that they’re extremely easy to wear. I don’t have to be too neat with it and if they chip, it’s not as noticeable as a bright or true pastel. The tricky thing here is finding one that compliments your skin tone. Choosing one really depends on the look that I’m going for, but I typically choose sheer pinks when I’m feeling extra lazy and want my nails to look just polished, a dark mauve for my toes, and a mid-toned mauve whenever I feel like it (which is often ha). I’ve struggled with finding a nude for years, but here are a few that I’ve grown to love.
Pale opaque pink/nude: OPI It’s Pink PM & CND Vinylux Skin Tease
Sheer pink: Mineral Fusion Blushing Crystal
Mid-toned mauve: OPI Half Past Nude & Zoya Jill & Zoya Cathy
Dark Mauve: OPI Dulce de Leche

PURPLES
After pink, pastel purples are the next easiest to wear for me. I think it’s because the purple tones compliment my golden undertone, so I don’t feel like it looks too garish when I wear it. I just bought this Morgan Taylor Prim-Rose and Proper, which looks like a mauve, but has more purpley tones in it – so pretty!

OPI I Am What I Amethyst | Essie Bikini So Teeny | OPI The I’s Have It | Morgan Taylor Who-Dini?
BLUE
Blues are a bit of wild card for me, but after being the Pantone color of the year in 2016, I started seeing it everywhere in the beauty world. I would have never thought I’d like periwinkle, but it’s now one of my faves. I had to include the polish that started it all – Essie Bikini So Teeny. This Essie polish has a bit of shimmer in it, so the OPI The I’s Have It is a great alternative if you just want a straight-up periwinkle. I love the contrast between the polish and my skin, but if I want something slightly more subdued, I have OPI I Am What I Amethyst and Morgan Taylor Who-Dini?.

OPI Gelato On My Mind | OPI This Cost Me A Mint | Essie Da Bush
GREEN
This color is also not something I wear often, but I expect big things since it’s 2017’s Pantone Color of the Year. The exact tone picked isn’t really my cup of tea, so here are some variations of it. Essie’s Da Bush is my fave out of these 3 since it’s more muted and looks great against my skin. Then there’s OPI Gelato On My Mind, which is more of light turquoise.

I’m not sure what shade you were wearing when I saw you a few days ago – but I LOVED it on you.
