Frankie Rose Cosmetics Our Lil’ Secret Concealer and Matte Perfection Foundation Review & Swatches (c/o)
I started noticing Frankie Rose Cosmetics when all my favorite makeup Instagramers started using it and they all had one thing in common…a flawless complexion.
The products are available in small beauty shops or beauty salons and of course online, but this brand is making some major waves in social media. These Instagramers that I admire from afar happen to be makeup artists, and if they give it a thumbs up, it’s gotta be good right?
The Our Lil’ Secret Concealer reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, the texture is thinner than most concealers I’ve used in the past but its coverage is still medium to full. Because of its thinner texture, I found that I only needed a dot under each eye to conceal.
The shade I have is Chai, a medium with peachy undertones, which was really nice at concealing my dark circles and creating a subtle highlight. Chai isn’t as light as my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard (my concealer of choice when I do some serious concealer highlighting).
The Matte Perfection Foundation isn’t as matte as I expected, it’s more demi-matte even with a primer. The finish and texture of this foundation is similar to Too Faced’s Born This Way Foundation, but I like the color range in this collection much better. The coverage is medium to full.
The shade I have is Olive and is unfortunately too light for me since coming back from San Diego, so once my tan fades, I’ll be using this again.
If you’re looking for a more matte foundation, try using it with a mattifying primer, like the Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer (which is CRAZY mattifying).
