GLOSSYBOX April 2015 Review (c/o)
Sorry I’m a little late to the party on this one but I couldn’t not include this on my blog.
I used to subscribe to GLOSSYBOX years ago and now that I’ve taken a hiatus, it’s a really nice treat to have and use this month.
For those new to GLOSSYBOX, it’s a monthly subscription service for $21 a month where you receive 5 deluxe-sized beauty products.
There are tons of beauty subscriptions out there on the market but what I really like about GLOSSYBOX is its higher end products mixed with their chic and feminine style, which is something I try to emulate in my everyday life.
April’s GLOSSYBOX was different than other months with pop art all over the box itself.
My box came with five items:
- Marrakesh Endz: Split End Mender & Preventer
- Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum
- Julep Gel Eye Glider
- Aerin Beauty Waterlily Sun
- OCC Stained Gloss
As a bonus, it also came with a cute little pouch and a mystery gift to Thursday Friday.
I can honestly say that there is not one dud product in this box. When viewing the multitude of subscription boxes out there (not just beauty), there seems to be at least one product that you’re so-so about that you end up giving away. Not April’s box.
I already know how and when I would use each product…
The Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum is something right up my street since I’m always trying to find products that are going to lighten my acne scars.
My hair stylist begs me to use a leave in treatment to help my hair and the Marrakesh one is perfect for my bleached ends.
The Aerin Waterlily Sun perfume is such a great handbag or travel perfume that has plenty of uses. The scent is perfect for spring and has really lovely floral and musky notes.
Lastly, the OCC Stained Gloss and Julep Gel Eye Glider are color staples in the summer months (bronze and neon go so well together!). The OCC Stained Gloss has the saturated pigment that OCC is known for with a hint of transparency when you apply and the Julep Gel Eye Glider is creamy and sets to keep it from sliding down your face.
I could go on and on about these products, but the bottomline is, this box gets an A from me.
Have you tried GLOSSYBOX? If so, what do you think about it?

Great design, but I stay clear of these boxes as most tend to disappoint.

Totally agree with you that a majority of subscriptions don’t always include everything you like…at least with Glossybox they have limited edition boxes where you don’t have to buy a subscription and just buy one box you really really love. They’re reasonably priced for everything you get too!

I’m no longer subscribed to any beauty boxes because I would end up getting all these cute samples and would never remember to buy the full versions. So it’s nice to live vicariously through your box.

Next time I see you I’ll try to give you some extra makeup I have lying around. 🙂

In theory, these boxes are a great idea, but they never seem to work for me. I have very pale, sensitive skin, so I’m very picky with the products that I try. In these deluxe boxes, the colours generally don’t work, and the skincare items don’t mesh well with my skin. An all hair care box though, and I would try that 😉

With other subscriptions, I find that too, but there are a few in between that make it worth it. Glossybox has a higher price point, so it’s nice that they’re living up to those standards and including more luxe products. I’m sure you can totally find an all hair care box though!!
