Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette is a palette containing three shimmery blushes. Having never owned any of the Ambient Lighting Blushes, they instantly remind me of MAC’s Mineralized Skinfinishes and Milani blushes. The blushes are finely milled and blends beautifully, sheer or full-on, without any chunks of glittery particles on my face and gives a natural, glowy flushed look. But if you’re not into high shimmer blushes, this might not be the palette for you. As I’ve said before in other posts, sometimes I’m not a fan of the shimmer, since it can highlight bumps and oiliness on the cheeks.
As always, Hourglass’ packaging never disappoints. It’s sleek, compact, and sturdy, which I love for traveling purposes. The shimmer in the blush can double as a highlighter if you don’t want to lug around an extra product when you’re on vacay.
Luminous Flush | Incandescent ElectraIncandescent Electra | Mood Exposure
Incandescent Electra is an exclusive shade in this palette, while the others can be found in their permanent collection. Luminous Flush swatches on the pink/rose side on my skin, which I find soooo pretty to wear during the day. Incandescent Electra is a cool-toned coral and swatches the most shimmery on my skin. It’s a pretty light shade, so it comes up a little more subtle on my skin tone. Mood Exposure is my fave out of the bunch since I’ve been loving berry toned blushes this season.
I have pretty oily skin, so the blush started to fade around the end of the day. At night, I like to wear more matte blushes and strategically place shimmery products on certain parts of my face, so I only wear these Hourglass blushes during the day since the luminosity does look really pretty in the sunlight.
One thing I did notice when I was browsing around at some of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette Reviews on Temptalia and the Makeup and Beauty Blog is that my blushes and swatches look slightly different from their pictures. Not sure if that’s just the lighting, but it was something that concerned me. Perhaps these blushes vary slightly from palette to palette? If you own this palette, let me know how your blushes swatch, are they like mine or similar to Temptalia or the Makeup and Beauty Blog?

I have this and mine are very similar to yours! Maybe it is the lighting? Still that is concerning and weird. I have the pressed powder of from them and it has a huge crack in it but I heard that’s normal.

Right? I mean, I like my swatches a lot better than the ones I’ve seen so I shouldn’t be complaining haha.

They say each blush will not be identical, so most likely that’s the reason why your blushes don’t look like the other bloggers. It’s designed that way!

Phew, thanks for letting me know! xx

I didn’t buy the palette because I already own Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure but wish I had known this was coming out!

Great minds think alike 😛

I find these HG powders and blushes to be non-oil controlling so best to really wear an oil-control powder beneath these so you can make them last the whole day! 🙂
