How to Beauty Prep for Holiday Parties
I just looked at my calendar and I’m a little overwhelmed. Does anyone feel the same way?
Going to events is one of my favorite parts of my job – I get to network, meet new people, mingle with old friends, drink a little, it’s so much fun! But getting ready for an event takes a lot out of me. From doing my hair, going glam, and picking an outfit (which to me, is the MOST stressful), prepping for an event is no joke.
Ever since college, it’s been an on-going joke with all my friends that I take forever to get ready. While I still take a long time, I think I’ve gotten a little better over time and with all the events that I go to, there are some tricks I have up my sleeve to cut down on time and still feel fabulous. So before party season starts, I like to prep my skin, nails, and body so I can focus on my hair and makeup the day of.

Get a facial
Getting a professional facial is a bit of a treat for me, but it’s SO worth it! My skin feels smoother, softer, and my makeup glides on so much better. As much as I love makeup, my skin comes first! Trust me, makeup looks a lot better on beautiful skin.
You can also give yourself a facial at home (I love doing facials on Sundays!). Depending on your skin concern, there are tons to choose from. Right now, here are my faves:

Exfoliate
Now that winter is here, so is my scaly skin (ew!). So if you’re going to have your legs or arms out, make sure to exfoliate and moisturize. By exfoliating, your skin will look brighter and it’ll help your tan last longer too.

Get waxed
Or get your brows reshaped. There were many times where I spent about 10 minutes trying to make my brows even (which is precious time when you’re in a hurry!) because I didn’t get them shaped. Save some time and get them waxed and/or tinted so all you have to do is whack on some powder. Feel free to get your underarms, upper lip, legs, etc done too!

Tan
Now that you’re fully exfoliated and moisturized, reach for your favorite self-tanner. To make it really easy, you can choose a self-tanner that lasts a few days. I’m also quite picky about which tanners I use (some look orange on me or some don’t even show up on my skin tone), so if you have any recommendations, please LMK!

Get a manicure
Complete your party look with a manicure! I’m a sucker for reds this time of year and nothing says polished and chic like a red polish. But if your nails are pretty low on your priority list, here’s a tip: choose a nude polish. It goes with just about everything and if it chips, it’s not as noticeable as a classic red.

K, time for a break to watch Vlogmas! SO addicting, ha!
I hope this was helpful, but please let me know if you have any tips and tricks for getting ready for party season!
