ittse Palette Review & Swatches (c/o)
It’s been just a few months since I finished grad school and now that I’m back working, my daily makeup has to be easy and polished enough for work.
My day varies from day to day and sometimes I’m working from home or in SF for meetings, but either way, I also need my makeup to last and it must be versatile enough for work and play.
I met the ladies at ittse last year at The Makeup Show in SF and fell in love immediately with their customizable palettes. There are so many shades and textures to choose from and ittse is a local San Francisco Bay Area brand too!
So, when ittse asked me to create a palette online, I jumped at the chance and chose all my favorite colors that I knew I would need for work and fun.
In every palette, I look for four things: a base, a transitional matte brown, a highlight, and the right tone.
Bare Canvas was the perfect choice for my base and I ended up choosing Blondie (a brow color) as my transitional shade. As for my highlight, I chose three (I couldn’t help myself haha): Brut, The Martinez, and Barbardos. Barbados is actually a face highlight, but it works great as an eyeshadow too!
As for the rest of the shades, I chose them based on what colors I usually gravitate towards and what colors would easily take my look from day to night.
Here’s the breakdown of my eyeshadow finishes:
Matte: Bare Canvas, Blondie, Changing to Flats
High Shimmer: Gold Coast, Barbados
Shimmer: Brut, The Martinez, Para
Matte + Glitter: Caviar, Irish Coffee, Hieroglyph
Last week, I put the ittse palette into action when I visited SF’s North Beach for a lunch meeting at my favorite North Beach cafe, Cafe Greco.
This little cafe has a bunch of outside seating and is perfect for people watching. I highly recommend going if you’re in the area, I instantly felt like I was transported to Europe!

Like I said, during the day, I keep my makeup pretty simple and wearable.
In my crease and outer lower lash line, I used Blondie and all over my lid, I blended out Hieroglyph. In my inner tear duct and in the inner third of my lower lashline, I used Brut to highlight my eyes. I added a winged liner and mascara and my eye makeup was good to go for work!
As for my work outfits, comfort and style are a must for me.
If you’ve ever been to SF, you’ll know that the hills in SF can get really steep, so I usually wear flats or keep a pair of flats in my bag.
Besides the yummy Italian food around North Beach, there’s also a lot to see, including Washington Square and the Coit Tower.
In the evening, I met up with my boyfriend for some cocktails, so I made a few changes to my outfit to get cocktail ready. That day, I just added heels and a cute clutch.
As for my makeup, I smudged Irish Coffee + Caviar along my lower lashline on top of some eyeliner and deepened my outer crease with Irish Coffee. Then, I intensified my inner tear duct with Barbados.
The rest of my makeup was just touched up slightly and then I was ready for some cocktails!
I put so much thought into my ittse Palette and it was so much fun to put together too! Head over to ittse’s virtual Builder and start creating your perfect palette!
