L’Oreal La Palette Nude 1 Review & Swatches
It’s finally here. After seeing the UK get it first, I’ve been waiting and I found it on accident too (edit: the European versions are different)! I was in my local CVS and I spied both palettes behind the counter sitting by themselves and yes, I grabbed them quick.
At first glance, there are some shades that are awfully similar to the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.
This palette has 3 mattes and the rest are shimmers (not overly frosty though!). The texture is not as soft and buttery as the Naked Palettes, so you’re going to have to take a little more time building the colors on the lid. Definitely use a primer (or even try them wet!) when working with these shadows, I think it’ll help the colors pop more.
Shades 1 and 4 were the most disappointing for me, they swatched chalky and 4 barely showed up on my skin after numerous attempts of building up (see swatches below).
Having said that, the mattes were surprisingly good and shades 5 – 10 were winners.
The back of the palette had examples looks to try and the L’Oreal Makeup Genius App claims to have 1001 ways to wear nude. Haven’t checked that out yet, but something to consider if you need makeup ideas.
I paid $19.99 for the palette at CVS, but if you can find it, Walmart has it cheaper.
Compared to the Maybelline The Nudes Palette, I enjoyed this palette a lot more. Try to grab a hold of these palettes if you’re a nude palette addict like me!

I have the Rose version of this palette and it has some beautiful shades within. It’s not the best palette out there in terms of pigmentation but it’s not the worst either, I was pleasantly surprised x

Agreed, it didn’t blow my mind, but good option for those who love drugstore makeup.
I bet this is even more pretty in the flesh. Its defiantly a good high street palette!

Yea, I can hardly see shades 1-4 on your skin, but 6-8 look like great colors!
Yeah that was a bit of a bummer, but my face is much lighter than my arms, so it definitely shows a lot more!

I’m so excited when I see drugstore brands releasing larger palettes like this! We haven’t received these from l’oreal or the nude one from maybelline but I’m sure they’d be a huge hit when they arrive! I personally don’t see myself buy either one from l’oreal but I know pleny of girlfriends who don’t have as many neutrals who would love one of them!
