Just like me, I’m sure you get a ton of emails daily about the next upcoming sale event. With so many, how do you choose? So it got me thinking, why not share with you the sale events I think are worth going to?!
Truthfully, there are only a few sale events I get really excited about and surprise, surprise – it’s usually about beauty.
So when I saw that Nordstrom Valley Fair (it’s my fave mall in the South Bay!) was hosting the Beauty Trend Week, I just had to stop by to give you the scoop.
If you haven’t heard of Beauty Trend Week, it’s basically an entire week full of events with Nordstrom beauty experts where you can get makeovers, mini facials, free samples and exclusive gifts with purchases. Best of all, it’s totally FREE to go!
Even if you’re a total makeup expert, it’s worth going to check out the latest trends and how each brand is incorporating the trend into their makeup. Who knows, you might get inspired!
For the newbies, they’ll teach you how to use their products to make it work for you.
Besides getting all the goodies, a lot of experts from each brand will only be there just this week, so you can learn their tips and techniques too!

Now, Charlotte Tilbury is one of those brands that I haven’t dived deep into yet. Sure, I have a few CT products, but I really wanted to get to know the brand and its products better. CT is all about Hollywood glam (which is my favorite type of makeup), so I was eager to make an appointment at the counter.
Joseph, who is the Regional Makeup Artist, explained to me that with CT products, I should be ready to go with every step in my makeup routine. If all I added was a primer on my face (i.e. the Wonder Glow), my face should be ready enough for me to walk out the door and go to the store. Charlotte created every product so that it could create a look on you all on its own.
CT offers 1o different looks in her makeup wardrobe, each coming with a boxed set of makeup to make it super easy for the everyday woman. I already had the Dolce Vita Luxury Palette, so we decided to recreate that look. Here are the products we used in order:

A few techniques I picked up on:
- There is a heavy focus on the skin with CT. Joseph spent a lot of time prepping my skin by massaging the Magic Cream, Wonder Glow, and Light Wonder foundation into my skin.
- Customize your brow color and use a few different shades to achieve your perfect brow. At CT, we went for fuller and darker brows.
- Joseph layered product on my eyes to get a more intense effect, but you can pick and choose what works best for you.
- The Cream Shadow was applied all over the lid + inner teach duct.
- On the outer corner and lower lash line, he used the Colour Chameleon eyeshadow stick and blended it using his fingers. It sets fast!
- This color was intensified with the garnet color in the Dolce Vita Luxury Palette and then smoked out slightly with the dark brown.
- He used the Rock N Kohl to get a rough shape for my cat-eye liner and then lined my upper and lower waterline.
- For a more defined cat eye, he put the liquid liner on top of the pencil and connected it to my lower lashline too.
