Paula’s Choice Resist Anti-Aging Review
Ever since getting an anti-aging facial last month, I’ve been on a mission to find a full-on skincare routine that works for me.
The team at Paula’s Choice approached me to try their products and even offered to give me a skin consultation too!
Now I’m sure most of you already have a basic skincare routine down, but what does each product really do? I loved that Paula’s Choice educated me on what types of products are out there and how it could help my skin look better. You can read about their expert advice here.
With the consultation, all I had to do was explain my skin type and my concerns (i.e. acne, wrinkles, blackheads, etc) to get a skincare routine that’s tailored to me.
I ended up getting an anti-aging routine with products for combination skin.
Paula’s Choice provided this guide, but I added a few more steps here and there for an even more customized routine.
I used to think a cleanser, serum, toner, and moisturizer were enough, but now, I easily have a 7-8 step routine.
Morning:
- Cleanser (i.e. Resist Perfectly Balanced Cleanser)
- Toner (i.e. Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner)
- Essence
- Vitamin C serum (i.e. Resist Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum)
- Exfoliant (Resist Daily Pore-Refining Treatment With 2% BHA)
- Spot treatment (i.e. Resist BHA 9, if needed)
- Moisturizer with SPF (i.e. Clear Ultra-Light Daily Fluid SPF 30+)
Evening:
- Cleansing Oil
- Cleanser (i.e. Resist Perfectly Balanced Cleanser with Clarisonic)
- Toner (i.e. Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner)
- Essence
- Vitamin C serum (i.e. Resist Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum)
- Exfoliant (i.e. Resist Daily Pore-Refining Treatment With 2% BHA)
- Spot treatment (i.e. Resist BHA 9, if needed)
- Moisturizer (i.e. Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator)
Cleansing my skin properly helps with the overall being of my skin, so incorporating a toner after cleansing ensures that I get all the makeup and dirt off my skin.
Because I’m acne prone, my skin has been loving products with chemical exfoliants. Paula’s Choice gave me an exfoliant to use daily and a stronger one for a weekly treatment.
Depending on whether you’re oily or dry, the Resist collection has either BHA or AHA exfoliants that help target skincare concerns like wrinkles, dark spots and acne. Ingredients like glycolic acid and retinol are also key ingredients that help with anti-aging.
Can’t forget about a good moisturizer! I personally love using night moisturizers much more than day moisturizers on my skin, but we can’t forget the SPF! If you have dark spots like me, make sure you use an SPF or else the dark spots will never fade and could get darker.
Hands down, a vitamin C serum is something all my facialists have recommended over the years. If you’re just starting your anti-aging routine, make sure you use this for day and night. The serum brightens your skin and also has antioxidants to help product your skin from the environment.
