Pixi Ultimate Beauty Kit 2nd Edition c/o
To see this many eyeshadows and blushes in one place seriously makes me one happy girl. For $34 dollars, you get 12 blushes and highlighters and 40 eyeshadows in the Pixi Ultimate Beauty Kit.
Scroll down for more pics and more importantly, what I thought about the kit.
First off, I have to say, this palette is great value for money. If I’m doing my math correctly, it’s about 65 cents per eyeshadow/blush.
However, with large kits like these at a bargain price, I always find that the quality of the eyeshadow suffers slightly. I get my Pixi products from Target, so I’m not expecting department store quality here, but I do generally enjoy Pixi. Don’t expect these products to be as finely milled or buttery as NYX or Wet n Wild. That being said, the eyeshadows and blushes are pigmented and they do a great job at packing on the color. I didn’t find any one of them chalky and blend-ability was easy too. Using a primer is a must with these eyeshadows though, they didn’t last too long on my eyelids.
I like that they included cool and warm toned eyeshadows. You know I loooove warm toned eyeshadows so I was pleasantly surprised because I knew I’d get tons of wear out of those. I think Pixi tried to play it safe with these eyeshadows though because although they were separated into cool and warm, neither side were on the extreme cool or warm end of the spectrum. I’d label the eyeshadows fairly neutral, leaning towards cool and warm.
I was disappointed in the lack of matte cream eyeshadows though. The cream shimmery eyeshadows on the warm and cool side swatched awfully similar, both had a gold-ish shimmer running through them.
You may have noticed that one of my eyeshadows was crushed. The palette unfortunately arrived that way, so something to think about if you are looking for a palette that travels well.
As for the blushes, I think Pixi gave a good selection of tones and shades. The only thing missing is a bronzer/contour shade, but no biggie for me there. I really liked that they gave a good variety of highlighting shades since highlighters are definitely not a one-size-fits-all type of deal.
If you’re a makeup fan that loves products on the artistic/technical side, I’d probably skip out on this one. But if you’re just starting out and like makeup on the natural side, I think this palette is a great one to start with. I actually think this palette is a great holiday gift for a teen!

I really like Pixi too, I didn’t know they had a palette like this! I generally don’t pick up large palettes just because they take up so much room and I am living that condo life :/ But the colours are really pretty!
