So I’ve been talking to a bunch of my friends about makeup on social media and what I discovered shocked me.
Instagram makeup is just not the one.
At least for the everyday woman, most of them stressed that they enjoyed seeing that type of makeup on IG, but realistically, it’s hard to achieve everyday. I’ve struggled with the pressure of wearing Instagram makeup on a daily basis (especially bc I’m a beauty blogger) and I agree, it’s just not realistic. So unless I’m filming or going to an event, I’m super lazy about applying a full face of makeup too. In fact, I don’t even wear makeup everyday! There’s a time and place to get super glam and for me, everyday is NOT it.
Clarins approached me to come up with a quick makeup tutorial that looks put together, chic, and best of all, super easy to do. There’s no eyeliner, everything is really soft and blended out. Besides foundation and brows, here’s what I used:
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch
Clarins Instant Light Brush-On Perfector in Medium Beige
Clarins 4-Colour All-in-One Pen
Clarins Supra Volume Mascara
Clarins Face Contouring Palette
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Candy Shimmer
Prep Skin + Apply Foundation
After applying my moisturizer and SPF, I applied Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch all over the face. I really concentrated the product in areas where I get the oiliest and where there are fine lines and large pores (i.e. under my eyes, around my nose and mouth). Next, I buffed foundation all over my face.
Conceal + Highlight
Sleep bottled in a concealer! Using the Clarins Instant Light Brush-On Perfector, I brushed on the concealer under my eyes in a triangular shape to highlight and lift the face. I also applied the concealer down the bridge of my nose and blended. If you have really defined dark circles, use this concealer in the darkest part and pat (don’t smear around!) to blend.

Eyeshadow
For a little more definition, I used the Clarins 4-Colour All-in-One Pen and used the brown eyeliner to smudge it all over my eyelid. I really concentrated most of the color along my lash line to get that definition I was looking for. You can use a brush to smudge it out, but I used my fingers. To set the brown eyeliner, I used the bronzer in the Clarins Face Contouring Palette all over my lid and in my crease. I also did the same thing along my lower lash line.

Lashes
Since I already had falsies on (looking into lash extensions right now), I applied the Supra Volume Mascara along my lower lashline. This mascara packs quite a punch, so I suggest applying it gingerly and then layering it.

Cheeks
With the Clarins Face Contouring Palette, I bronzed and contoured my skin using the middle shade. This bronzer is on the pinker side, so it gives a “I’ve just got a tan” bronzed look. I didn’t contour too heavily but applied the color along the perimeters of my face and on my cheekbones.
For blush, I wanted a really rosy look since the rest of my face was pretty natural. I applied the blush on the apples of my cheeks and blended towards my hairline.

Lips
For a little extra color and definition, I used the lip liner in the 4-Colour All-in-One Pen to softly line my lips before I applied the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Candy Shimmer. This lip gloss gives a really soft pink tint to the lips (I’m so happy it showed up against my pigmented lips!) and is super moisturizing and easy to wear. Perfect for everyday!

If needed, set your face with a powder and that’s it!
