My calendar is beginning to fill up with parties and events in December and I can’t wait! Believe it or not, I actually enjoy the process of getting ready (all my friends know it takes me hours haha)…once I know what makeup I’m going for and what outfit I’m going to wear. If not, I’m usually running around like a headless chicken with a floordrobe full of makeup and clothes. 😉
To get some inspo, I visited Target’s Beauty Concierge for some holiday makeup ideas and we came up with two looks that can easily be transitioned from day to night.
Neutral shimmery eyes + shimmery plum blush + matte bold lip
As the base for the entire look, we used a neutral blush and neutral eyeshadows to keep the look wearable for during the day.
Using a soft matte brown, I defined my crease and used the light champagne color on the center of my lid and in my inner tear duct area. I smudged a darker matte brown and a shimmery bronze into my bottom lash line for a subtle sultry effect.
Lastly, I added my usual eyeliner and mascara.
To easily make your look party ready, all you have to do is add a bold lip. I gravitated towards this Maybelline Lip Studio Color Blur in My My Magenta, but you can choose any bold color (like Plum Please or Partner in Crimson).
Blush-toned eyeshadows + shimmery plum blush + warm nude lip
If a bold lip isn’t your thing, I’ve got just the look for you!
To wear this out during day, define your crease with a matte brown shade and then apply a berry eyeshadow all over the lid. Do the same to your lower lash line.
Add your usual mascara and line your upper lash line.
To make this look more party ready, I smoked out my lower lashline with the darker shades in the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette along with a black kohl liner.
I used the same plum blush as my first look, but added multiple layers. With the shimmer already in the blush, it gave a beautiful glow without the extra step of adding a highlighter.
I also chose a lipstick that I could wear at work and at night and I thought the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Clay Crush would work perfectly. There are other nude matte lipsticks in this Maybelline range (so creamy but matte at the same time – love!) to fit various skin tones, like Nude Embrace, Daringly Nude, and Nude Nuance.
For some added drama, I added falsies and a gloss to the center of my lips.
So, there you have it! I hope you like my tips with Target Beauty Concierge on how to transition your makeup from day to night for the upcoming party season.
