If there is one thing I make sure to do every night, it’s taking off all my makeup. At the end of the night, there’s nothing like putting your hair up in a bun, getting into your PJs, and the feeling of clean skin. Am I right?!
Here’s how I remove my stubborn makeup, including waterproof mascara and liquid lipsticks:
1. Makeup Wipes
To take off the bulk of my makeup, makeup wipes are a great option. I have some friends who complain to me that certain makeup wipes cause sensitivity, so I make sure to read the ingredients list. I found that the Simple Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes don’t burn or irritate my skin at all.
If you’ve had a late night and can’t be bothered to wash your face, makeup wipes can be your very last resort.
For super stubborn makeup, like waterproof mascara, cleansing oil breaks down the tough stuff. I take a pump in my hand and rub it all over my face, including my eyes. Once I feel like my eyelashes are clean, I just add water to rinse my face and the oil turns into a milky liquid.
Beauty bloggers are OBSESSED with micellar cleansing water, and I’m so happy to see it easily available at Target.
After cleansing, if I’ve had a full glam face, I like to soak a cotton square with micellar cleansing water to remove every bit of eyeliner and mascara to prevent panda eyes in the morning.
You can even use this as your primary makeup remover if you don’t use stubborn or waterproof makeup. For those who have dry skin, you can use a soaked cotton square to cleanse your skin in the morning or as a refresher throughout the day.
I hope you find my post helpful whenever you feel too lazy to remove your makeup, or if you have trouble taking off super stubborn makeup.
I normally get my micellar cleansers and cleansing oils at department or specialty stores, but save your money! Now you can get it at a fraction of the price at your neighborhood Target. While you’re there and looking for specific products, the Beauty Concierge can be super helpful and point you to a bunch of options—so don’t be afraid to ask if you want some skin-care advice!

I LOVE a good cleansing oil, and Simple is a great brand. You really can’t beat getting all of the day’s makeup off before curling into bed.

OMG YES. Wearing waterproof mascara is so hard to remove for me, it’s so satisfying feeling the oil dissolve and melt all my makeup away haha.
