Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Swatches & Review (c/o)
Here comes Too Faced newest foundation: Born This Way. It contains hyaluronic acid, alpine rose, and coconut water to help give your skin a more youthful and hydrated appearance.
(Does anybody else think of that Lady Gaga song?)
This is my first time trying a Too Faced foundation and I had to give myself at least a week to wear it to be sure of what I really thought.
The bottle feels really luxe – I love the frosted glass bottle and the pump gives a good amount of product without being too wasteful. I use about two pumps of foundation for my entire face with the Beauty Blender. I haven’t tried it with a kabuki yet, but I can tell you that with the Beauty Blender it sits on my skin seamlessly.
I’d say the coverage is medium with the option to build it up to full. The consistency is similar to the Make Up Forever HD foundation and it blends impressively. Medium is my favorite form of coverage, so I don’t mind wearing this foundation day or night. It covers my redness and scaring, so I barely have to spot conceal. With a matte primer, the foundation has great wear and doesn’t separate on my skin at the end of the day. It dries to a semi-matte finish.
My only gripe with this foundation is the tone. The tones are neutral to slightly golden and for me, it just wasn’t yellow enough. I’m in between Sand and Golden, but I have been reaching for Golden more often since it’s the summer. Too Faced announced 6 new shades will be coming out in the fall, so I’m hoping that they come out with more deeper shades in the future…I’m medium tan and with this line, I’m almost at the end of the spectrum. Peep the swatches below.
In short, I’d recommend the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation for those who:
- Like medium to full coverage
- Like a semi-matte finish
- Neutral toned
The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is available for $39 at TooFaced.com, Sephora, and Ulta.

Ooo the bottle is so pretty on this one and the ingredients sound so good! I like how foundations now act as skincare as well.

I’ve wanted to try this foundation since I first heard about it. I’ve seen so many amazing reviews but I’m just so unsure about how well this will last on my oily skin as it’s so hydrating! Hopefully I’ll be able to get a sample 🙂 xx

Oh I love the frosted packaging, name and the shade range! I work best with yellow or neutral toned foundations. I unfortunately can’t tell which shade would be best for me based on the swatches on your skintone but I’d totally be wanting to check this foundation out in store!
