Too Faced Lip Insurance Glossy Review (c/o)
Just a couple weeks ago, I reviewed the original Too Faced Lip Insurance on The Beauty Vanity but unlike the original, the Too Faced Lip Insurance Glossy dries down semi-matte.
It’s pretty much the same process: you apply the primer over your lips and let it set. It fills in your lip lines and creates a barrier for your lip gloss to last last longer.
Pre-priming (is that even a word? haha), is highly recommended before you apply the primer. Exfoliate your lips as much as you can and make sure to moisturize. The primer will accentuate any dryness and will make your lips dryer than usual to extend your lip gloss’s wear time.

Similar to the original primer, the lipstick (UD Revolution Lipstick in Nude) I applied over the primer applied more opaquely and vibrantly. If you’re looking for more true color pay off straight from the lipstick bullet, the lip primer makes a big difference. However, I will say, the primer made applying lipsticks evenly a little bit more difficult due to the tackiness of the primer. The lipstick didn’t apply as smoothly on the primed lips, so I had to spend a little bit more time with the application — a small price to pay for those who hate reapplying lipsticks or lip glosses throughout the day. Also, I felt the primer on my lips all day and because the lipstick applied more thickly, I always had that feeling of something on my lips.
As someone who hates reapplying lip gloss and lipstick throughout the day (aka, I forget), adding this extra step to my makeup routine is worth it, but I will be fine using either the original or glossy version.

This is an interesting idea, I never knew there were lip primers! My lipstick comes off so easily so this is something that might work well for me. Loving that UD lipstick on you!

I’ve never tried any Too Faced! I do have a Cargo Lip Primer that I love but I will be trying this one next!

Does the Cargo Lip Primer feel similar to how I described the Too Faced Lip Insurance?
