Too Faced Melted Metal Swatches

Aaaaand here comes Too Faced‘s latest addition to their Melted family: Too Faced Melted Metal.

As you probably guessed from the name, they’re exactly like the Melted lipsticks, but metallic (aka frosty).  Definitely a pleasant surprise while everyone else is matte cray at the moment.

You know how much I love love love the Melted line, so I was pleased to find that it had the same texture that’s so comfortable to wear.

Application depended on the shade.  The darker shades were a breeze to apply (the sponge applicator is a HUGE help!) and usually one coat is already good enough for full coverage.

On the lighter end of the spectrum, try to apply in thin layers.  It was tempting for me to want to keep applying to get full coverage, but applying too much at once can cause serious gloopiness.  It’s definitely not Too Faced’s fault, just giving you a tip for you ladies who have pigmented lips like mine.

Like I said earlier, I loved the darker shades on.  You can see the metallic sheen in them, but it’s not too-in-your-face, which I love.

The lighter shades took some getting used to (does 80’s & 90’s frosty lipstick come to mind for you too?) since I think I’m a bit too tan for some of them.  Compared to the darker shades, the lighter ones looked more frosty on my lips as well.

I’m happy to see that they’re bringing out more products to their Melted range and I’m excited to see what else is to come.
