Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Highlighter Swatches & Review (c/o)

Today’s post is all about the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Highlighter, a baked champagne highlighter for the face and body.
The highlighter is housed in bulky box with a hidden brush at the bottom. The packaging is nice, making this a great gift for those who love the UD Naked franchise, but not so much for traveling. I wish the highlighter was in a more sleek plastic compact.
This highlighter is filled with a lot more shimmer and glitter than the highlighters found in the Naked Flushed trios (which I enjoyed using). Although it says that the highlighter is for the face and body, I made the mistake of using it on my face and found glitter particles on random parts of my face. The highlighter has fallout like the eyeshadows, so it was hard for me to keep the glitter where I wanted it to be (beware of flying clouds of glitter haha). Using a damp brush could help with more a precise and neater application.
That being said, I did like the tone and shade of the highlighter – it’s neutral enough to suit all types of skin tones and I think if the highlighter was more finely milled and less glittery, it would be really pretty to use on the face. I’d recommend just using this as a body highlighter on your collarbones, cleavage, shoulders, etc – it’s GORGEOUS for special occasions and I plan on using it for my birthday celebrations.

How exciting that it’s both of our birthdays next month! This would look gorgeous for a special night out, I have one very similar (however it is a brush on one) which I love using on my arms and legs for birthday nights out! xx

So white and sparkly! Too bad there’s some fallout. Does tapping the brush first help at all?
It does a little! The glitter in it isn’t fine, so I find those particles are the ones that fly around everywhere.
