Zoya Fall 2015 Flair Collection Swatches & Review (c/o)
With Fashion Week in full swing, it’s hard for me to not think about all the fabulous things I love about fall…coats, scarves, bolder lipsticks, and darker polishes.
Just like clock work, Zoya released their Fall collections: Flair and Focus (which will come in a later post).
This collection comes in 6 shades: Ember (deep, fiery red liquid metal), Cinnamon (classic bronze liquid metal, originally designed for Zang Toi NYFW F/W15), Giada (purple liquid metal with a hint of fuchsia pearl), Tris (blackened, brushed nickel liquid metal), Aggie (gold holo-flip, liquid metal with bronze micro glitter), and Estelle (blue on blue liquid metal with a blackened base).
Tris and Giada performed great: two coats and the finish was smooth and opaque on the nails.
I had to work a little harder with Estelle, which required three coats to get rid of some sheerer patches on my nail.
Ember and Cinnamon applied nicely too! I wasn’t a fan of the Cinnamon shade (I feel like it just doesn’t suit me), but I loved the look of Ember. I don’t have anything like it in my collection and I love that it almost looks like rust, which is a great way to switch up my usual red.
At first glance, Aggie was my favorite shade, but unfortunately, it wasn’t what I expected. The formula is quite thin, so you can use it for layering or build it up to 3 coats for more opacity. On my nails, it didn’t quite translate as well as it did in the bottle and it made my hands look a little sickly.
Zoya’s Fall 2015 Flair Collection is available for $9 each at Zoya.com, Amazon, and in-store at Ulta.
