Sadly, my month with ClassPass has ended. In case you didn’t read my first post about ClassPass, you can read all about it here. Basically, it’s a monthly membership that gives you access to all the fitness studios in your area.
As someone who used to hate to workout, there a few things I’ve learned this month:
1.) Variety is key. When I pictured working out, I saw treadmills and weights and then I thought, BORING. Since joining ClassPass, I’ve tried barre, spin, yoga, and pilates. The variety keeps my mind and body from getting bored and unmotivated. Although I enjoy spin and barre the best, it’s nice to know that I have other options in my pocket when I want to switch things up.
2.) Creates focus. With everything going on in my life, I get stressed and overwhelmed at times. To get my mind off of things, I used to just watch TV, hoping that the stress would go away. Since going to fitness classes, going all out and breaking a sweat gets all my frustrations out. It’s therapeutic trying to be at one with my body and not thinking about anything else.
3.) Motivation to be healthy. On the days I work out, I’m more aware of the things I eat and do. I eat more vegetables, I watch my portions, and I try to walk where I go. It helps to start my day with a class and all the effort to “try” to be healthy, just happens.
4.) Workout clothes are really cute. As shallow as it sounds, I found that buying cute workout clothes made me want to wear it more often, and therefore, workout more often. Although I saw everyone in my classes rocking some sort of Lululemon attire, it doesn’t have to be! I found a bunch of cute workout clothes at Forever 21 and H&M. In fact, they’re so cute that I even wear them on my workout day off. 🙂
If you’re interested in joining ClassPass and are bored with your local gym, give them a try! Keep in mind that you can only visit the same studio three times in one month, so it really forces you to try new studios and new ways to workout (which I think is a good thing!). It’s a little pricey at $99, but with all the options you have, the membership is well worth it and they’ve expanded to many areas of the US too!

Totally agree about workout clothes. I recently got some from Target and they make me want to work out because they’re so cute. One day we must do barre!

It’s so true that fun workout clothes can help motivate you. I always find myself more likely to go to the gym when I have something new and cute to wear. I have such a hard time getting myself to the gym but once I am there I love it! Here’s to a healthier 2015 🙂

These are very true! Especially about being more observant throughout the day after working out. And of course work out clothes can be so fun!
