In college, Halloween was such a treat for me. There were so many parties and I loved taking the time to make costumes with my friends. Fast forward 10 years later and while there are still lots of fun parties to go to, I don’t have that much time to fuss over costumes anymore. Nowadays, I rummage through my closet to find something to make it work for Halloween. Case in point: Audrey Hepburn. She’s iconic and easy to do.
My accessories were old costume jewelry I had lying around the house: long black gloves, a pearl necklace (I wrapped it three times around my neck and attached a brooch to it), over the top faux diamond earrings, and a small tiara.
For my hair, I slicked it back into a high bun leaving out my bangs. I teased my bangs to create some volume and pinned it around the bun. The tiara easily hid the bobby pins and I was done!
The makeup is also really easy and super wearable even if you don’t plan on going out on Halloween.
For my base, I used bareMinerals bareSkin Foundation for a healthy glow. My face structure is nothing like Audrey’s so I contoured my skin slightly using a cool-toned bronzer like Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. I couldn’t see any bronzer on Audrey’s face, so make sure to not use anything too orange.
For the blush, I wanted a blush that was really girly and gave a fresh flush to my cheeks. Here I used theBalm Instain in Lace just to the applies of my cheeks.
Then for my lips, I used Rimmel in #103.
Now on to the eye tutorial!
1.) Start with a bare lid and add your favorite primer. Mine is Urban Decay Primer Potion.
2.) Apply a bone colored shade all over the lid and all the way up to the brow bone. I used Cream from the Lorac Mega PRO and Lorac PRO palette.
3.) Take a light cool toned brown like Khaki (or Naked from the UD Naked Palette will work too) and apply it to your crease.
4.) Use a light to medium grey like Stone (or Tease from the UD Naked 2 Palette) in your outer crease to really to define it.
5.) Apply Stone to your bottom lash line.
6.) Take a nude eye pencil (I used NYX Wonder Pencil in Medium because white is too overpowering) and apply it to your waterline and lower lash line as well.. As you can see, I took it quite low to create the illusion of bigger eyes.
7.) Create a flick with your eyeliner for that classic cat-eye shape but nothing too crazy, you want to keep the look sophisticated. Curl your lashes and apply your fave mascara. On your bottom lashes, I applied mascara to the bottom half, just below where I applied the nude pencil. Clean up the look by applying concealer.
8.) Add your favorite fluttery lashes to enhance the eye. I used KISS Looks So Natural Lashes in Pretty. It’s up to you whether or not you want to use dramatic lashes, but I wanted to stay true to Audrey’s look.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s look, which will be a little more dramatic!
