And it’s totally holiday appropriate and family friendly too!
Thanksgiving is coming up in a week and I’m so, so excited to celebrate my favorite holiday! I love the holiday season and warm colored makeup looks, so I’m excited to show you how to recreate this look for all your Thanksgiving or holiday celebrations.
For my base, I went with my usual routine to make sure my makeup would last through Thanksgiving dinner and my food coma nap afterward. Leave a comment if you’d like to know how I do my base!
For my eyeshadow, I wanted to do a look inspired by a Thanksgiving favorite: homemade cranberry sauce. Here’s how to recreate my eye look:
Prime Lids
Prime your eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This is crucial if you have oily lids or if your eyeshadows tend to crease on you.
Define Crease
Using the shade Warm Taupe from the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette, define your crease with a fluffy brush. Use windshield wiper motions and blend.
Pack On the Eyeshadow
Then, take Venetian Red and pack this shade all over the lid with a flat eyeshadow brush. Blend using a fluffy blush.
Create an Outer V
To define your outer eyelid, work Cyprus into a V-shape from your crease to your upper lash line. This helps to create more depth to your eyes.

Add a Pop
To add a little bit more shine to your lid, take a shimmer cranberry eyeshadow like Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in the shade Drift. I find that Colourpop shadows work best if you apply using your finger. This shade is a deeper, redder shade, so by packing this on top of Venetian Red, you’ll get a metallic cranberry colored eyelid.

Define Lower Lashline
On your outer lower lash line, use Cyprus to connect the outer eyelid to the lower lash line. Blend in Drift along the rest of your lower lash line.
Highlight Your Inner Corner
Highlight your tear duct with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in the shade Opal.

To finish up the rest of my look, I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade Exposed. Next, I set my face using the Mario Badescu Rose Spray. Then for my lips, I applied the Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in the shade Weho. I chose a gloss because I knew it would wear off smoothly and not leave any weird patches of color throughout the meal.
