Left this salon with the best swishy hair.
It must seem like I get my hair done all the time (I swear I don’t!), but this post is a little bit of a late one. But better late than never! 🙂
Anyway, back to the post —
The Woodbridge Salon is a salon I’ve quietly bookmarked for a while. I’ve walked by a few times because it’s next to one of my favorite cafes in the Marina and everyone in the salon always had the best looking hair. By the looks of it, I could already tell it was a trendy boutique salon (which I love), so I knew I had to visit one day.
By March, my ends were dry, my balayage was severely grown out (it was 6 months since my last salon visit), and my hair was feeling so heavy from my overgrown layers. I can only hide my much-needed salon visit with a curling iron for so long! With a bit of research, I found that Woodbridge had amazing reviews and beautiful work on Yelp, so I booked an appointment immediately with Ashley, the co-owner of Woodbridge.

The Treatment
I basically told Ashley I needed a cut, balayage, and a tone – but Ashley read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted. She knew I wanted beachy looking hair, so she told me she was going to add more layers and cut my bangs shorter for more of a Brigitte Bardot vibe.

The Process
Without getting my roots dyed, the whole process is a lot shorter and takes around 2.5 hours. Ashley added some bleach for the balayage and let my hair process for about 2o minutes. I just wanted a refreshed balayage, so she didn’t bring the bleach up too high.
After it was done processing, she washed out the bleach, massaged my scalp (Ashley has some amazing head massaging skills!) and toned my hair to get rid of the brassiness. She also added a conditioning treatment to strengthen my bleached hair.
Next it was time for the cut, which she then added more layers for more movement. I find that when my layers are too long, my hair becomes too heavy and flat, and my curls drop out faster. The Bardot bangs were something new for me too – I haven’t had my bangs this short in years, but my bangs were blended so well with the rest of my hair and I felt like it framed my face so much better.
To style my hair, Ashley used the Bumble and bumble Prep to detangle and prep my hair and then gave it rough blow dry. She gave my hair a blowout and used a flat iron to give my really subtle but defined waves. She sprayed Bumble and bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish Volume Spray to give my hair an airy texture and then added the Bumble and bumble Thickening Creme Contour for a piece-y look.

The Results
I was so pleased how Ashley cut, colored, and styled my hair. With boutique salons, you can really see the difference with the work. Ashley was knowledgeable about everything I asked her and was so helpful with how I should care for my hair.
I left the salon feeling SO good – my hair felt incredibly soft, it felt bouncy and light, and the color was gorgeous! Ashley blended my balayage perfectly and I was so happy with how everything turned out, especially since I didn’t want the balayage too thick or too close to my roots.

The Bottom Line
Overall had an amazing experience at this boutique salon and I would definitely visit again! I felt welcomed, it had a great vibe, and the salon was clean and beautifully decorated. Ashley was such a great listener and I was super impressed with her work – she is such an artist and I’d trust her completely to do my hair again.
